Message from Clark McKinney
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year. We hope all is well with you and your families. We have good news, Camp Wabenaki will be open for the 2026 summer season. Me, my wife and our staff look forward to seeing everyone when we open. Please know everyone is always welcome. We look forward to seeing nature at its best again and how it heals the children also how it teaches all of us about life. Camp Wabenaki is now a vendor for the New York State and the DYCD and the Board of Education. This fall of 2026 we're going to bring Wabenaki into the schools. We're going to teach wilderness training along with basketball and we will be implementing life skills throughout the training.
The plan is for the 2027 summer season, we will be utilizing what the youth has learned and they will join us up at the camp to bring everything together that they've learned, including activities, open discussions and certificates. We just want to say thank you and we appreciate all the organizations very much that have supported us and trusted us with their prized possessions over the years as we've grown. For the first , second and third graders, we will be enhancing the sprinklers system for them to play in and we will be including small bikes, suitable for the first and second graders. We also look forward to all the organizations to come and spend the night with us, we plan on doing overnight again. The camp will be fully equipped to handle overnights. We look forward to roasting marshmallows by the fireplace, while the moon and the stars are shining down upon us. We look forward to hearing the kids laugh and seeing their smiles. Camp Wabenaki is a place where kids can be kids without fear, prejudice, gun violence or gangs. We are a safe haven for all youth of all ages, here they are protected and nurtured. We are also planning on hosting several fundraisers for adults over the course of the 2026 summer to utilize the camp. All events and fundraisers will be announced on our website in advance, please look for them on our website at: (www.campwabenaki.com).
Thank you again for your continued support. We wish you and your families good health and a prosperous New Year. On behalf of myself, my wife, our staff and our board members, thank you for your continued support. We appreciate all of you . Be well, stay safe and stay blessed. We hope to see everyone soon.
Sincerely,
Clark Mckinney, Camp Wabenaki President
